Excerpt from "At the Library" column, Palatka Daily News, September 2, 2017
Its getting close to the time when I will contact my partners for the Angel Book Tree. The Angels climb the trees the first of November, but we begin work on the collection and production of the Angel Tree in September. If you haven’t heard of our Angel Tree before, please contact me at 386-326-2750 Tuesdays through Fridays and I will be happy to explain.
Second is the Yellow Ribbon Project. This is also during November, beginning around the first and culminating the day before Veterans Day. The Putnam County Library System offers a FREE Yellow Ribbon to the families of active-duty Military personnel. Again, please contact me and I will explain all the details.
The last item is actually in January of 2018. It is the Putnam County Library System Quilt Show. This will be the 5th show, I think, and the reason I’m mentioning it so early is so you have plenty of time to make a fabric or quilted item to exhibit at the show. The scheduled dates are Thursday, January 11, Friday, January 12 and Saturday morning, January 13. Details will follow, but you can begin planning and collecting materials now.
Remember that at the Bostwick Community Center on Fridays from 12:pm to somewhere around 3:pm, we have Fabric Arts get-togethers where we talk, quilt, laugh, knit/crochet or whatever project you are currently working on. Call me if you want more information.
